2024 Macon County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

2023/2024 Plan Update

Macon County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) in conjunction with the participating cities, villages and townships completed the 5-year update of the Macon County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. Macon County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is dedicated to involving the public directly in the review and update of the plan.

A draft of the plan can be accessed by clicking the link below. Upon state and FEMA approval, the final draft of the plan will replace the draft version of the plan.

Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Department

The EMA is responsible for the overall emergency planning functions of the County. EMA addresses the mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts of the local jurisdiction that produces a comprehensive Emergency Management Program.

The LEPC of Macon County produces facility specific emergency response plans that deal with particular chemicals used, maintained, stored, and or transported within the jurisdiction.

The Decatur / Macon County Terrorism Task Force was formed in November of 1999. The TTF objectives are to coordinate information and enhance the current capability of the local jurisdiction to plan, train, and respond to an act of terrorism within Homeland Security Region 15.
