Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) with two (2) years of office experience required. Experience working with elderly preferred. Must be compassionate, have a pleasant attitude and maintain a positive, customer friendly manner with the public at all times. Must have excellent communication, phone and organizational skills. Must have knowledge of general office procedures/equipment and have basic computer skills; the ability to type 40 words per minute preferred. Must be able to work effectively under stress. Must have the ability to work with diverse community groups. 

Must have a dependable vehicle for use during work hours, valid Illinois Driver’s License, and appropriate auto insurance. This position requires an individual be physically able to meet the demands of the job including bending, squatting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Summary of Job Duties

Answers department phone, completes thorough intake interviews (especially in case of emergencies), provides information on Starting Point Services and transfers calls to staff and takes messages for staff delivering the message to staff in a timely manner. Accesses AssessmentPro when email notification of Choices/DON referral is received and completes intake for the Choices/DON screening. Completes data entry in the Case Management Information System, assigns intake to Care Coordinators, completes assessment authorizations, and other reports designated by the Directors. Assists with faxing Choices/DON screenings to the appropriate facilities. Postmarks outgoing mail. Sorts and distributes incoming mail. Assists Administration with the daily mail delivery.  Provides excellent customer service to customers who come to Starting Point reception window for assistance. Communicates customer needs to appropriate staff. Checks email, voicemail, and in-box daily. Assists with completing monthly monitoring calls on all clients and adds to Starting Point log. Performs basic clerical tasks such as typing, filing, forms maintenance/ordering, supply maintenance, and ordering, etc. Assembles client packets. Participates in Starting Point meetings/in-service. Makes needed adjustments to performance/productivity as agreed upon in evaluations. Completes Office of Rehabilitation Services (ORS) client billing and maintains list of those billed.  Assists with client billing as needed. Assists with Money Management Program filing in client files; assists with monitoring calls of MMP clients and completes annual satisfaction survey. Distributes money that is prepared by Money
Management Program (MMP) advisor to Money Management client. Ensures that MMP client signs cash receipt per MMP cash distribution policy.
